Mayfair - The Entertainment Area


   The capital of UK is the largest metropolitan area in Europe. It is divided into the so called 32 districts and the main financial centre City of London. Within the City of Westminster, which is in the central part of the city is the Mayfair area. It is mostly known as the commercial area of London because it is full of business offices, embassies and some of the most luxurious Mayfair hotels.


   The name of the area comes from the annual May Fair, which was banned in 1764. The borders of the district are from Hyde Park and Bond Street to the west and east, Oxford Street to the north and Piccadilly to the south. There are located an important buildings as the United States embassy and the Handel House Museum.

   Mayfair is the place with the highest rents in the world and the most expensive properties. The situated there Burlington House is considered the most luxurious shopping areas. There are many private banks and hedge funds also. The area is great for living because of the best schools in the City of Westminster. There are 41 primary schools as some of them are the King Solomon Academy, George Eliot Junior etc.

   If you chose London for your next vacation, you must visit this district. It is full of interesting places and you can find some of the most luxurious restaurants and hotels in Mayfair.
