Grand Canyon and Arizona resorts

Everybody knows the Grand Canyon. But do you know that there are some of the most luxurious Arizona resorts near this Natural Wonder of the World? You can have an amazing vacation there, full of different outdoor activities.

The Grand Canyon is 446 km long and almost 2 km deep. The geologists consider that it has been carved by the Colorado River for two billion years. It is separated on North and South Rim and few people know that there are several historical buildings on the South one. The oldest one is the Buckey O'Neill Cabin built in 1890s because of a copper deposit in the region. Nowadays it is used as a guest house.

It is very interesting that the weather on the both rims is different. There is a snowfall on the highest forested parts as the North Rim receives more snowfalls and participation than the South Rim. The Inner Gorge is usually dry and the temperatures there are like those in the desert locations near the Tucson hotels.

The National Park is closed in the winter and the best time to make a trip to the Grand Canyon is in the summer. If you want to hike or to take a helicopter tour, you have to be well informed about the weather conditions in advance. And during the rest of the time, you can have fun in the luxurious Arizona hotels.
