Historical Places in Rome

Rome is one of the most ancient cities in the world and it is also full of historical place. Located on the Tiber River, it is the second largest metropolitan area in Italy after Milan with population more than two and a half million people. The city is famous with its ancient architecture and luxury Rome hotels.

It is hard to decide where to start from when it come to having a tour in the Eternal city. One of the most interesting and visited constructions is the Colosseum. It is the largest amphitheatre built ever and may be that is why it attracts so many people from all over the world. The Colosseum has 50,000 seatings and it was mainly used for gladiatorial battles and public spectacles as executions.
Another interesting, ancient construction is the Roman Forum. It is located in the centre of the city of Rome between the Palatine and the Capitoline Hills and its purpose was to be used for public speeches, triumphal processions and election.
There is no way to visit Rome and not to visit the St. Peter's Basilica. It is inside the Vatican City and it's famous as the church with the largest interior in the world capable of holding 60,000 people. It is considered that St. Peter's tomb is right below the altar of the basilica.
These are just few of the many interesting places you must visit in the Eternal City. Of course, you are going to need good accommodation but there is no need to worry about because the hotels in Rome offer the best service on a reasonable price.
