Which UK Festivals You Should Get Tickets For

Because I have worked for a production company that organizes festivals for the last decade, I am consequently in an ideal position to offer you advice regarding which ones you should attend due to the fact that I have been to them all on numerous occasions. Consequently, here are my recommendations for which of the United Kingdom’s numerous festivals you should get tickets to this summer:

1. Go to Waveform near Birmingham. This has always been one of my favourite festivals due to the exceptionally intimate atmosphere that is combined with quality live music and lush surroundings. This year sees the likes of Big Scary Monsters, Asimilon and Illegal Machines playing, meaning that you can be sure the party is going to be a bonanza and a half. I normally stay in one of the Birmingham Star City hotels that are located nearby rather than camping at this event as the camping area is located a bit too near to the main arena and so it can prove tricky to get any sleep at night if you stay at the festival, so I would recommend that you do the same.

2. Go to Secret Garden Party in Cambridgeshire. This three day event is renowned throughout the United Kingdom for being a quite superb three days of hedonism, random entertainment and unadulterated fun that is always worth the entrance fee so I would certainly recommend that you get tickets to this one. On Saturday night there is always an incredible fireworks display and because the event is organised by a bunch of hippie-aristocrats, no expense is spared when it comes to ensuring that the site is quite spectacularly beautiful.

3. If you are a fan of ale and folk music, then I would suggest that you get tickets for the Braintree Ale Festival in North Essex. These three days of CAMBRA-sponsored drinking and dancing is always a feast for the senses. There is also quality local English cuisine served, though you should be aware of the fact that there is no camping at this event and so you will need to book yourself into a Braintree hotel if you do not live within driving distance. In fact, even if you do live in driving distance it might well be an idea to get a room at a hotel due to the fact that there is such a range of delicious ales on sale, you might find that you are unable to drive by the time it comes to returning to your bed.
